EMVCo Qualifies KEOLABS PICC Digital Testing Solution

Solutions enable conformance testing for cards and mobiles in payment applications


19 November 2015, Paris – Today at the Cartes Secure Connexions trade show, KEOLABS, announced the EMVCo qualification of their PICC Level 1 Digital Testing Solution. The solution enables digital-level conformance verification of smart cards and mobiles used in payment applications. With this qualification, KEOLABS’ testing solutions are now available for full EMVCo validation at both the digital and analog levels. EMVCo is the global technical body that facilitates the worldwide interoperability and acceptance of secure payment transactions by managing and evolving the EMVCo Specifications and related testing processes.

The KEOLABS’ EMVCo PICC Level 1 Digital Testing Solution is based on a common, open KEOLABS’ test bench, which has proven its stability and versatility in contactless testing in other demanding application sectors such as NFC and identity. The test bench is available to EMVCo accredited laboratories but also to end customers for product development and in-house validation prior to engaging in third-party conformance certification. Users of KEOLABS’ test benches for applications sectors that are based on ISO/IEC 10373-6 (eMRTD and CEN TS 16794) and NFC Forum, can easily transform their test benches for EMVCo testing by adding the KEOLABS’ EMVCo testing accessories and digital and/or analog test cases.

EMVCo PICC Level 1 Analog Testing Solution from KEOLABS KEOLABS’ validation solutions ease the challenges of in-house testing by providing fully integrated hardware/software installations. KEOLABS also provides open access to testing scenarios (scripted in Python language) and testing results, so that the tests and results hold no mysteries for users. KEOLABS' EMVCo PICC Level 1 Digital and PICC Level 1 Analog Testing Solutions are based on the SCRIPTIS™ software environment and ProxiLAB communication emulator/analyzer. SCRIPTIS integrates a campaign manager, editor, result viewer and report generator in a single interface for greater efficiency in test bench configuration, test campaign management and results analysis.

KEOLABS’ validation solutions for contactless payment cards are a natural extension of KEOLABS’ testing solutions for smart cards (NFC Forum, ISO/IEC 14443 A/B, ICAO, CEN TS 16794, FeliCa, ISO/IEC 7816) and mobile phones (NFC Forum, SWP – HCI/HDLC). The solution also complements KEOLABS’ application-specific solutions for testing conformance to transportation ticketing (CIPURSE) standards.
