– Abstract –

The standard ISO/IEC 10373-6 defines test methods which are specific to proximity cards and objects, proximity coupling devices and proximity extended devices, themselves defined in ISO/IEC 14443.

Significant changes have been done between the previous version ISO/IEC 10373-6:2020 and the last version ISO/IEC 10373-6:2025 (also called “Edition 5”). The objective of this fifth edition is to technically revise the previous edition, with the incorporation of the Amendment 2 (Enhancements for harmonization), and confirm the withdraw of the Amendment 1 (Dynamic power level management).

Other changes are the addition of explicit RFU reception test methods, modifications of the PICC transmission test methods, the simplifications of the impedance matching networks, and various corrections of the conformance test plan.

This White Paper summarizes these changes in term of test equipment, tests cases for PICC (Analog and Digital) and test cases for PCD (Analog and Digital).
