KEOLABS First Qualified for EMVCo 3.2a

KEOLABS announces today that its EMVCo PICC test tool, including both analog and digital, is the first solution successfully qualified by EMVCo according to the latest version of the test specification 3.2a

13 July 2023, Montbonnot, FRANCE – EMVCo is a technical body composed of six of the largest payment networks worldwide: Amex, Discover, JCB, Mastercard, UnionPay, and Visa. Its mission is to facilitate the worldwide interoperability and acceptance of secure payment transactions by managing and evolving the EMV® Specifications and related testing processes.

EMVCo is continually improving its set of test for cards, mobiles and readers used in payment transactions, and recently it has updated its digital and analog test specifications for card (PICC). The changes of this latest version 3.2a are minor on the digital side, but they are significant on the analog side. Indeed, EMVCo has introduced a new EMV TEST PCD antenna design enabling more accurate simulation of steeper waveforms that are more representative of real terminals. This allows PICC manufacturers to conduct thorough evaluations of critical aspects such as LMA, timings, and sensitivity tests, ensuring compatibility across the entire ecosystem.

“All the EMVCo accredited laboratories and PICC manufacturers will have to equip themselves with this new EMV TEST PCD antenna,” said Christophe Rabaud, CEO at KEOLABS. “And we are ready to deliver to help our customers ensure that their products meet the stringent performance requirements of the market.”
